Design of Algebraic Geometry codes for magnetic recording channel

Description: In the magnetic recording world, pure technology of digital signal processing for improving the recording density has already reached its limit based on nowadays technology. Designing much powerful forward error correcting codes seems have much more space for promoting the recording density. In this project, you will have to design some Algebraic Geometry codes including basic RS codes, Hermitian codes, elliptic codes and codes based on other algebraic curves for magnetic recording channel, which is highly correlated ISI channel.

Prerequisites: background in abstract algera, basic knowledge of error correcting codes, c or matlab
