Alexander is a professor of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, 
and Mathematics at UCSD. He visited ALGO during June 2005 to February 2006. 
During his visit, we discussed in depth new algorithms for algrebraic list-decoding
of Reed-Solomon and related codes. He also began rerearch on network coding
in collaboration with Christina Fragouli, and gave several seminars.
