+Summary : Hesam is a PhD student at EPFL and joined the lab in September 2009. He received his BSc and MSc on communication systems and science from Sharif University of Technology  in 2006 and 2008, respectively. He is currently working on the applications of coding in biological systems. More specifically, there are mechanisms in biological systems which are responsible for error correction and detection. One particular example is the associative memory in brain which is in charge of pattern matching and error correction. Coding theory could be used in analyzing such systems. Furthermore, it might also be possible to inspire from these systems to design better codes.
